We all have different lives. They might be measured by different scales — the number of years is just one of them. But we all start with birth and end with death and so on that scale it is all the same length — the journey is the important part.

We are all asked to walk these paths called life, but some are asked to climb mountains and some paths are so very short — but the goal is a journey and end is the same. Who we meet on the journey is important, and how we effect their path is of greater importance than the length or steepness of our path or theirs. We can’t understand what lays beyond the end. We only can know the little bit of path we are on. So I think to be happy we must make the best of this part of the path we are on, no matter how steep it might be. The end will come when it does, but we can effect others long after we reach the peak of our mountain or end of our gentle stroll.

What a beautiful piece of writing! In the end it isn’t the length of life, it is the living done that counts.

Interesting write Darrell. Even a baby who dies early had affected others.
