Commentary on discovering how much one has amassed when moving.

Look at all this stuff! I was more than overwhelmed to discover when undertaking a move from one state to another, how much stuff I had amassed over the years. Typically, I felt that I didn’t own as much as the average person, but I own a lot of stuff. I actually feel like I’ve been promoted to another tax bracket.

I love to read and I have a nice size library which I am very proud of. What I didn’t realize was that I have boxes upon boxes of books I’ve acquired that I never unpacked or read because I ran out of room. Not to mention all the Jehovah’s Witnesses magazines and media I’ve collected over the years.

I have an entire single wide trailer full of clothes ranging from size 6 to size 14, covering the various sizes I’ve been over the last five years. Some of the clothes are new and I expected to get back into them. Some of the clothes should have been taken to the Salvation Army years ago. Coincidentally, I have shoes and pocketbooks that entertain each outfit.

Collectibles range from ceramic dolls to Crystal bells. I have vases of all shapes and sizes and tea pots. I have various items collected from various foreign countries especially the Orient. Flower arrangements are scattered everywhere, I love flowers and I especially like creating my own flower arrangements. I have dozens of stuffed animals and a plethora of jewelry and trinkets. The rest of the stuff I’llrefer to as “what-nots” for lack of a better word. The entire trailer is filled with a life predisposed to collecting.

I could have one major yard sale, but for now, I am just overwhelmed at all the amazing discoveries I’ve encountered while moving. I won’t bother moving it all, at least not just yet, but I’m getting a big kick out rummaging through it. Wish me luck.

sounds like a profitable finding. when im cleaning i also wonder why i even bought some of the things that have been left hidden somewhere in a closet.

I suggest you get rid of things before you move. You won’t need everything in the new place.
