Strength is all you need to overcome the odds in life.

On her first year, she became the top one of her class. She was then transferred to higher section in her second year. It was the moment she’s been waiting for to show the world that she’s worthy of the word “intelligent.” On her third year, she already belonged to the star section. The cream of the crop as what people says. But I really don’t know what got her because suddenly she became tired of it. Tired of the life of a student being tagged as intelligent. Tired of the life as being the center of attraction and everything about expectations. She became a rebel as what people around told her but who cares? She can carry herself enough to still get good grades. In her fourth year as a high school student, she became a fanatic of local bands. She attended their concerts even though she has a class the day after the concert. It was really amazing that she can pass her exams without failing remarks. Her mother always scolds her. Who wouldn’t? She came home as late as five o’clock. And since Filipinos are conservative in culture if not in nature, it is really inexcusable to have a daughter who is not-even-sixteen of age to come home at five o’clock.

But she knows how to manipulate people by giving them what they want. She passed the entrance exam of one of the prominent universities in the country. Of course, her parents are very happy to know that. Three years after that, here she is, still schooling and hoping that she would graduate on time. On these past few years, there were many things that happened to her life. Some created major changes in her life. Some of them are negative but mostly…it’s positive. There were many things she is thankful of like having parents who are strict but supportive all the time and having friends who do not practice crab mentality. I just hope that she maintain this tempo. But knowing her, I know she would despite the odds that coming in her way to prevent her from achieving her dreams. This girl is none other than me.

the story is somewhat dragging. you should improve your writing and just a tip no one is interested in reading an autobiography.

  • jules on May 14, 2010

actually i have an idea from the start that the author is the “my best friend” its because she doesn’t include herself. i mean okay if she’s a brat then say that you actually think she’s a brat..something like that.

i agree with susie. the topic is boring. it will do better if you write it in a blog..i mean a blog is for your own satisfaction and not for others. and here you are writing to satisfy the readers. i hope you take it as tip and not an insult.
