My Body As A Shield.

Sometimes I begin to think
How great it would be
If the ocean itself
Only came up to my knees
I can’t help but drown myself
In my own symphony
In this euphonic breeze
Part my waters so I may cross alone
And when I’m halfway across
Shut the door, so I may atone

Long ago, my purpose was etablished
A determined guardian,
But I can still feel
Without out a second set of footprints
I still carry on
My love is like a shield

It’s easy to be philisophical
But even easier not to care
This life is all but metaphorical
You can’t begin to understand
How I can begin to believe
In someone that doesn’t believe in me
You don’t get it
My world is like an endless, star-struck field
For someone here, I’d give it all away
For those close to me, I’d sacrifice
I gladly use my body as a shield
