                               My Dog is a Pig.

I have a beautiful golden retriever. He is gentle, loving,  and obedient, in fact all you could wish for in a dog, except when food is around. When his bowl of food comes up, he gets so excited, he does a little dance, and then pounces on it as though he has not had a meal for months.

I did try putting a ball in his bowl to slow him down, but he still manages to devour his meal as if it is his last. This is how he wants to eat, apparently, but the big problem is when we want to eat, as he thinks that all food belongs to him.

We usually put him in another room whilst we eat, as having a dog staring at you is very off putting, and causes us to eat too quickly. We put his dinner out there, but it’s not long before he is whining and scratching at the door because he wants to come in.

I really don’t know what to do, as he is obsessed with food. Is there a dog lover out there who can advise me?
