We spent a Mother’s day dinner at my brother and sister-in-law’s house today.  My grandmother came, and it was her, my mom and dad, my daughter and me.  A few minutes before the steaks got done, my sister-in-law’s Son and his girlfriend arrived.    We had a lovely dinner and then cake, along with chocolate covered strawberries, (it was dad’s birthday too).

     Afterwards, we sat around, stuffed and happy, and proceeded to talk about how my brother is doing in building a barn and house on his property.  Which means (yay!) we get to get all our stuff out of storage. We then talked about the dog we had growing up, who antics kept us well entertained, plus he was a good protector for us kids, anyway.   There was a pond a couple of houses away, and we got to swim there sometimes.  The dog hated water and would not get near it.  But when my neighbor, who went swimming with us, was playing and pretending to drown us, that dog started swimming out to get him  Dont mess with MY kids. 

     Plus we talked about the time the house caught fire, the time dad caught me eating butter( I think I was 3) so he made me eat a whole stick, and how a friend and I trapped my brother in a tree when we were kids.

     All in all, I would say it was a productive day.
