The diving of a race.
For the longest time, I have been trying to develop and answer for black on black crime. The only answer I came up with was that, black on black crime has been embedded with in us. It started with the saying, for those that can be divided, so shall they be conquered. The method was introduced during slavery. In order to divide any group, you have to oppress one, thereby up lifting the other. This is done in the most horrific of ways. The owner of slaves would separate one group, which consisted of family members. They would then have one group work indoors, while the other worked within the harshest conditions of the fields. Those who were caught trying to give food or anything to there family members working the fields were dealt with horribly. They were either returned to the fields, were they were wiped and tortured or they were sold. They learnt through extremes measures, never to disobey their masters. Now to go through this for four hundred years, one can only assume it would be embedded within one’s mind.
For four hundred years we were tortured into hating one another, even the members of our own family. For one whose family worked inside the house, after seeing what was done to those, who as they were told, betrayed their master, by giving food to the starving. They chose to never do it again, for fear of retribution. This is only my opinion, but I believe, this is where the saying do not snitch came from. I can not imagine what our ancestors went through back in those times, and neither will I ever want to, because within those days lies the receipt for which we have become today. Yet, I find that it is things done on to us within the past, the divide and conquer theory, can we as a people finally see that we need to heal ourselves.
