My personal philosophy, say if you disagree.
My Philosophy:
It is wrong to engage in self pity, for there are plenty of people out in the world who are far more deserving of that pity, and would sacrifice to be in your position. Self pity only furthers the time frame for which you are drowned in sorrow and denies you access to opportunity that could allow you access to happiness which could allow you then to benefit the people around you. Self pity is usually deliberatly elongated to attract attention to one self. The sorrow itself is sometimes gone long before a person quits complaining. For example: A person with cancer has a right to ask for assistance, though they should stay strong and do their best to continue on in their lives. But a cancer survivor who has long recovered from their condition has little right to use their former disease as an excuse to make others feel bad for them. The condition is gone, and is not affecting them any longer. If that survivor would realize that their self pity is a crime in the sense that countless people are hurt or dying out there from the same condition they had, and that he or she is very lucky to have survived, then they should and would go out and do something to benefit others. This would remove the plague of self pity and bring happiness to themselves and the people around them. If people get beyond self pity and work altruisticly then they can start a domino effect that could change the lives of millions.
