At my house, we have four children, with me being the oldest. Just last year, we moved into a new house. It has four bedrooms, which is one less than what we needed. This is because my parents, my brother, and my two sisters all took up the four rooms, leaving me out. Thus, I was placed in the basement, into which we converted a storage room into my new bedroom. The basement level of my house is a very important place to me, and I would say that having a bedroom in the basement is better than having a bedroom upstairs any day.

            The basement of my house consists of three rooms; A large, spacey room with a pool table, a room with a television, and my bedroom. These three rooms make the lower level of my house my favorite place to be. Each room serves an individual purpose to suit my needs of everyday life.

            When first entering the basement, you will be in the main room with the pool table. In this room, there is also a table tangent to the wall that I can do my homework at, when I feel like doing it all. Because it is in the basement, there is barely anybody else, making the noise level of this certain room very little. This makes this room a very good one to sit down and focus while studying. Branching off of this room sits my bedroom.

            In a bedroom, you have full capability to do what you want to customize it.  This makes a bedroom very personal, reflecting self-interests and hobbies. My stereo system is in my bedroom, and I could not imagine my room without music. Whenever I walk into my bedroom, it is a routine to walk directly towards my stereo and toggling on the red button, releasing sound waves of stimulating sounds into my ears. I am also able to turn up the sound a decent amount without interfering anybody else’s day.

            Also branching off of the main room is the theater room. We call it this because it is a room that is devoted to having multiple couches directed towards a large T.V. in the back of the room. I do not use the television for watching shows, but rather for playing video games on my Xbox, which I find myself doing a ton.

            As you can see, the basement is a very special place to me. I spend almost all of my free time in it. I would prefer having my bedroom in my basement, over having a bedroom upstairs any day of the week.
