Using ones gifts or talents in life. Words of encouragement on making a career change.

Do you feel like you missed the boat?

What I mean by this is that, there are times in our lives that one feels they have missed their calling in a skill or talent that they have. I for one am one of those people. We are blessed with so many gifts that I am sure sometimes we wish that we could use them all to benefit others as well as ourselves.

Some of these gifts or talents turn out to be hobbies, favorite pastimes, or just interests that we like to do. Sure we might say why can’t we do them all? Well, for one I might feel that we don’t have enough time, days or energy to do them all. I know having time is so important being a mother of four boys ages 24, 12, and 4 year old Twins. So focus on maybe one or two particular things and make them your best! Whether it is a career change, starting your own business or going back to school. You can do it!

Life is to short. Go for it just make sure that if this change affects love ones around you make sure you have their support. Then decide what it is that you want to do. Steadily make a plan, set a goal and focus on the prize, which is becoming a better person in all you do.

After doing your homework on what career change you want to make, take it slow, concentrate on your goal, because whatever you decide just know that you can do it no matter how hard it seems at times. Especially if you have the support of loved ones cheering you on.

I hope this article encourages you and just makes you want to jump off that couch, grab a pen and paper and write out your plan in making the right career change for you!

What a good thought. You might add: “It may be helpful to volunteer in the area you think you are interested. It is a good way to find out if you like the area and it is also a good way for others to get to know you. Often, volunteer positions have led to permanent employment.”

I sort of made a career change. I am a retired secretary and now I work in a retail store as a support associate on the Price Change Team doing the markdown of items to go on sale. I enjoy it very much, plus you get first hand on what’s going on sale.

Wow, this is a great article. I need to take action soon, too!
I am slowly planning my career change to retirement. Hope I can succeed on my retirement and be happy. Thank you for opening up my eyes sooner. Mahalo much.
