Yes. No donuts for you..

Feeling low? That’s how I felt when orkut said this to me.

Orkut.. a social networking site that started I don’t know when, but became extremely popular in 2004 (atleast in Pakistan). All the school kids were orkut crazy! Adding each other as friends (class mates), making fan clubs for each other (oh yeah..) in the communities section, and .. *drum roll* exchanging scraps on each other’s “scrap books”. That was the most fun part: scrapping tons, scrapping loads. And tOh, good old days.

But then the orkut craze subsided. It became a boring old place with nothing much to do at all. I guess the final farewell to orkut came with the farewell party at school. People were already joining Facebook around 2007 when the owner surrendered its exclusivity and opened for “all and sundry”. Gradually the face-book fever replaced the orkut craze. Oh how I hate both of these sites now. I shouldn’t say “hate”, that’s intense.. but well I dislike anything which is a cause of time wastage.

Over these past few years I have learned how wastage of time can hurt oneself. We are talking about excess of time wastage here- I’d rather people use time for constructive, positive purposes. Oh yes, that is life. That is how life should be.
