They contain -CONH- functional group

These fibres are prepared first time in Newyork and London hence the name Nylon.

Physical properties of nylon fibres fibres

• The nylon fibres have high tensile strength.

• They are tough and have high elasticity.

• They are wrinkle proof and friction resistant (abrasion).

• They are resistant to chemicals like acid, alkalies and solvents.

• They are also resistant to attack of moths and fungi

• They are high temperature resistant
