No, of course Obama is not Osama, but do you remember Osama Bin-laden? The Twin Towers? The Pentagon? If you say no to any of these, then you must read this. If you still remember this tragedy (and I hope many of us still do) come and read this article, maybe this will shed a light on many subjects, stereotyping, racism, terrorism etc.) Come forth, and enjoy!
My Reflection and the Aftermath of the Attack
My Thoughts and Feelings
In my opinion, I believe this attack was not necessary at all. It made no sense to crash the planes into those landmarks of the US, killing thousands of innocent people, hurting their families as well. Crippling the US economy may have been one of the terrorist’s goals, seeing USA already in a recession at the time. They may have thought if they made US lose even more money, it would hurt them in the long run. The problem is, if al-Qaida’s leader Osama bin laden, thought about the consequences this would have against his friends, family, country, and himself, he would have realized that it would be very costly. Look at how much money was spent and how many were killed in the war against Afghanistan (for holding the terrorist training camps, under the Taliban’s protection) and with the searches of finding terrorist groups. Now, 8 years since that incident, the Americans are still fighting against them, draggingother countries, such as Canada, in with them. They are spending billions, maybe zillions of dollars each year, to accomplish what? Is it revenge for the 9/11 attack? They probably could have accomplished that years ago. The real reason for the war isn’t even clear anymore!
US Impact
The Aftermath and consequences of the attack was very costly. Already in the recession since March, they had to spend billions more to improve their national defense and clean the mess the al-Qaida made. Also, the airlines were hit the hardest by the economy after the 9/11. Many were afraid to fly after the event and so some airlines faced bankruptcy. Also, their insurance costs increased deeply, and they had to spend money to improve their security. The Congress had to pass a 15 billion package of cash and loan guarantees to support the weakening airlines.

World Impact
To a greater scale, this also had a large impact on the world. Many innocent people were jailed and maybe even tortured because they looked like what one might call a “terrorist”. This cause some racism and stereotyping. Also many people were afraid to travel, to the United States, or just anywhere else in the world, for fear that they might be in a plane with terrorists planning on the next attack. Plane security also got tighter, e.g. not allowing any form or type of liquid onto planes.
Human Impact
This unfortunate event also caused a lot of human impact, both emotional and physical. Firstly, many people were killed in that crash. Around 3000 people were killed all together. If 3000 people were physically impacted, think about how many would be emotionally impacted. If say, each person had 4 family members, and 6 friends, that would already mean 30, 000 would be impacted. Also, people would be emotionally impacted by the 9/11 attack just by watching the collapse of the Twin Towers and thinking, who’s next? What if your city or country’s greatest building just collapsed? What would you do in that situation?
Conspiracy Theory
Maybe this thing was just a huge conspiracy? After some researching I found some theories were intriguing and convincing, while others are just plain outrageous, but they all have means to show what might have “really” happened that day on 9/11. Look at the last page for some theories people have thought of!
