Throwing perspective into inanimate eyes…

I happened upon a stuffed animal, a cheetah, sitting on a stump in the middle of the trail. He had an orange nose which pointed in the direction of his gaze. He was a little worn with his fur all matted down. Yet he sat comfortably with one leg slightly propped up upon the gnarly bark. He had a soft grin on his white muzzle… perhaps he is in love.

The breeze whispered ever so lightly, moving just a few strands around my face. The water had little ripples and the light shimmered a dance as it sparkled golden stars across the lake. I looked back at the cheetah and thought he must be in heaven and perhaps my heaven would be just as grand. I looked down at my feet as the pebbles and twigs crunched beneath my soles. I was fortunate enough to acquire a penny which stood between my feet. Head’s up for good luck… it smiled at me.

“I will cherish today forever,” I said out loud as I returned to my path I was traveling on.
