For some strange reason I am infatuated with the Olympics. My devotion started when I lived in Michigan. I was put on bed rest for preterm labor and watched them day and night from the beginning to end. Being in the Detroit area, I had my choice of watching the US channels or the Canadian programming.
Where the US focused on our athletes and mixed in bits and pieces around soap operas and News, our neighbors to the north shot everything. It covered all the athletes, training runs, etc. I read an article at the time how the northern states were tuning into Canadian networks for Olympic Coverage and got a chuckle out of it.

Alas, I moved to Georgia and had no choice for programming. However, they did host the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. I watched that one on TV as well even though they were only 30 miles away. We were planning to go down to Centennial Olympic park to just say, “we were there”. We got up early turned on the news and discovered that the bombing had occurred the previous night. Trip cancelled.
I am extremely uncoordinated so I guess it fascinates me to watch people who are not. I do enjoy experiencing the Olympics every two years now instead of waiting four years. I find that….Oops, gotta go the Olympics are on!
