If you’re here, it’s because you’re probably trying to run that awesome (not really) new game, but then it screws you to Death or Keyboard Destruction.

Hello! To not waste any time, (so you stop hurting your innocent keyboard) I’m going to go straight into the fix, THEN the explanation for the anomaly, so you can go screw that game back, or feed your curiosity and learn, AND THEN SCREW THAT GAME!! :D

THE FIX FOR THE MIX

  1. Right-click “My Computer” or “Computer”, then click “Manage”. On the left sidebar, under “System Tools”, select – “Device Manager” and then, in the main view, expand “Display Adapters” by clicking on the arrow next to the text, then right click the item that you think is your graphics processor and write the name down (or keep the window open).

  2. Go to the website of your graphics processor vendor, since you’re here, I’ll probably assume yours is Intels’ and specify your graphics processor, for downloading it’s drivers. Now download it.

  3. Now install it, after waiting hours because you have dial-up or something. :D

Now, if all went smooth, (unless you used the wrong adapter :P ) you should be able play for hours and hours ’till your head explodes. Unless it all went horribly horribly wrong, go see if you have any other adaptors, and then repeat step 2 and 3 with those.

WHY THE FIX?

See, when windows updates your graphics drivers, it does so from Microsoft’s stash. BUT, they don’t supply with OpenGL, which is needed to run most games, but if you update yourself from your vendor, they will probably have OpenGL with it, probably. Atleast it worked on this very crappy laptop I have here :D

But, the explanation is so simple, it’s not even worth reading! So, go away and play some games, and don’t blame me if you miss that important meeting, or die from playing too much..
