There is a fine line between Passion and Obsession.

When we start working on something we love, we say that it is our passion.  Passion is a very strong emotion which can be focused on something or someone.

So when someone is said to be a passionate person, it means that the person has very intense feelings.  If he is passionate about his work in most cases it is a good thing.  However, we have to be careful that the passion does not turn into an obsession.  This happens when the intensity of the passion reaches the stage where it fills up all your focus.

A person who is obsessed with work is sometimes known as a workaholic.  Sometimes when we have a passion for someone, the feeling is so intense it makes the other person nervous especially if the feeling is not mutual.

So is passion and obsession good or bad.  Well it depends!  It is focused on something positive or not.  If it causes harm then it is definitely bad.  It can be good too.  Many of the things we enjoy today are due to obsession of one person – Thomas Edison.  His passion and obsession for his invention has given us electricity, bulb and many of the inventions we enjoy today.

very interesting article. I thing they both could equally end up good or bad, I guess it depends what your obsessing about or being passionate about! I obsess about things all the time but is that because I am a passionate person?
