A vignette.
When I was young I wanted to do many things. Two of them I really remember. The first was that I wanted to be a girl scout. The second, I wanted to play softball. I really wanted to be a girl scout, but for one reason or another, my parents could not afford it. I think my dad was out of work at that time and my mom’s teacher salary was not enough to pay for the bills and give us everything we wanted. I also wanted to play softball. However, either we didn’t have the money or my parents never got around to getting me into it. To this day I would still love to play softball, though it is too late to get on the school team. As much as I like it, I am not all that good at it because I didn’t start when I was young. It is very upsetting that I cannot play on a team because of my parents. Hopefully, I will find a club team that is for beginner high school students or adults. Once again, my dad is out of work, so I do not know if I can afford to be on a club team. We will see.
