Watching the news these past few weeks, got me thinking about my life compared to those of in Japan after the disaster…
The Disaster in Japan,
News doing that they can,
To get to you to provide aide,
And if you can’t you feel like a renegade,
Because you can’t provide the money to be paid,
Or use the college fund you have saved,
On a Disaster that doesn’t involve you,
And you ask yourself what do I do,
You reach out to the lord above,
With your questions and prayers,
While you sit there and stare,
At television screen hoping there is no glare,
And what do you do if it is there,
You complain about it don’t you,
That is what you do,
It is American of you to do so,
Because you think it couldn’t happen to you,
But if it did what you want the world to do,
Sit there and complain about the glare on their TV screens,
In their comfy clean blue jeans,
Or would like them to help whether it is thru cash or prayer,
In any way possible even if on a dare,
As I lay in here in my comfy bed,
Thinking here in my spoiled little head,
I pray for those in Japan that wish they had a bed,
I pray for those in Libya who pray for the safe roof over their heads,
So I dare you to pray for those less fortunate or dead,
That the good lord blesses them with his light,
In a dark time and show them the way that is right,
I challenge you to this prayer,
On a triple dog dare…
