I believe that the presentations that we did in class went very well. Each group had a different viewpoint on their papers. What I did like was the connection that each paper gave and how that tied into each of the assignments. I also believe that there is a point where a person looks at this and really thinks about what this says. I took this out of the last presentation that people are influenced by the media and that is how they view their teams. For example, college students will support their college team by all means. They might do some actions that they are not proud of or understand in the long run. This could be a problem because the next generation of students can see the behavior and take it further than it was before. This is what I believe was the main key point of the presentation.

I found many key points in the second presentation that made me think. I believe that parents should not push their children to play sports. If the child wants to learn then that should be his choice. At an early age, children learn how to have fun and interact with their friends when playing sports. If I were to focus on this, I would make this so that this concept stays a constant throughout all their years. However, this does change when the age group gets older. Winning games becomes top priory and the social aspect fades away. I believe that the children that play sports want to be like their heroes and try to win the game and take every shot. However, some children will fail at this and this will set up disappointment. This is the main point that I took out of this presentation.

The next one was insightful to me. I am learning how to become a better leader through my experience. Everyday, I see issues that I do not want to be apart of and try to focus on what is important to me. In the presentation, the group talked about not having a big ego and trying to control it. I do not believe that one person is better than the next in the world. What makes it different is the person’s situation that they have to deal with. Each situation brings on a new set of ethics and values that the person has to work on. As far as being better, I do not apply that to people if the situation is the same. I do believe that putting everyone on a equal level is one of the good qualities of being a leader.

I liked this assignment because it taught us to think beyond our limits. When we hear a situation, we take the one sided approach and apply it to our theories. This gave us a chance to see all sides of the square and come up with new ways to think about a situation. My theory is that a person should not just look at four sides, but they should look at all ways to help improve their lives. I believe that we should do this assignment at a later date to see if views change.
