About Queen Victoria’s thoughts on quantum physics.

“A Quark!?” She exclaimed -

in that authoritative deep voice,

for which she was famed.

“What a Strange thing it is.

It can be Up

and sometimes Down,

it makes one wonder -

Who thought of these? A Clown?”

“No, your Majesty -

Just think about the Top

joined to the Bottom

with no middle too

stuck together by Gluons

In the quantum particle stew.”

“Stop right there you Jester of this court.”

“The Charm of these Quarks

is somewhat confused.

One has to make it clear,

We are not amused.”

Wasn’t fundamental particle physics post Vicktoria?

Very much so! I was wondering what would happen if someone went back in time and told Victoria about quantum physics.

There were a few aims for this one.

1 – I sometimes wonder what would happen if something we knew now was taken into the past (what would happen if stone age people saw TV?) so I wanted to write along similar lines.

2 – To get in the name of all the Quarks(Up, Down, Strange, Charm, Top and bottom)

3 – To have Queen Victoria end up saying “We are not amused” – which is a “catch phrase” she has been atributed (even though it is disputed she ever even said it).

What a great train of thought to follow. I like your thinking.
