BBC film crews filming in Papua New Guinea in a volcano have discovered a variety of new and bizarre creatures.  They include the scary sounding Rat as big as a cat.  I doubt that ‘Rat-as big as cat’ is in fact the technical name of the creature.  Or indeed that the create in fact has a technical term  But it seems like a fair name for it.  Basically its just a huge Rat and lets hope it doesn’t migrate!

Other discoveries include a frog with fangs!!  Which is a crazy sounding frog.  It reminds me of a news article that stated that vampiric butterflies were on the move towards Western Europe. The idea of fanged frogs is almost as bizarre as the idea of a cabbage white with huge canines, foaming at the mouth and searching for blood! 

What an amazing world we live in, that new things, and new creatures can still be found!  With satellites, jet planes, roads and rails. What a great thought that the world still has so many secrets.  Let us just sit in amazement, and look at for what next.
