When lives are changed and so much is lost, depression can set in and create even more problems. It is easier when you have friends to entertain and to be entertained by. You can create groups for fun, groups for friendships or groups to help make the community a little better. Each one will make your own life better and easier to survive in tough times. Make your own economy by creating a personal group to share money, food, produce and ideas to help each other. Following are a few suggestions for recession group support systems to survive the hard times.

First on everyone’s mind is money and how little there is of it. The first group is a solution finding group to small problems. As friends and family, enjoy a friendly meeting as often as you like. Twice a week, once a week or whenever the mood hits you. At the first meeting enjoy a potluck of snacks and inexpensive drinks. During this time of eating and fun begin a list of the most current problems of everyone at the meeting.

Money will be the number one problem of everyone. Some you can solve and others you cannot help with other than to give verbal support until a solution happens. If someone is low on food of some kind, maybe someone in the group can help provide from their own extra. It could be something like medications needed at the moment and there is no money. Take up a collection to pay for the medication. Your little group can come up with ideas on making extra cash so each member of the group can use what is needed to help pay bills or other living expenses. This is your money group.

Next is your fun and entertainment group. There are several ideas and each one is great. If you want to have a lot of fun, laugh during group meetings and entertain the community, then begin a kazoo band. They are inexpensive little toys that make music by humming into them. The sound is not human, but it is fun and it is funny. You can become the number one kazoo band of your community. Entertain schools, children, other groups, parades, meetings and events. Everyone can hum so it is an easy and fun way to become the focus of local fame.
