A reflection from a relationship fitness class.
Earlier in the week I had the opportunity to be a part of a Relationship fitness class. This classed forced me to take a look at myself and what I stood for. As I examined all the relationships that I am involved in at this present time, I realized that I was not putting in 100% in all of my relationships. I was not doing this on purpose, I was just living life to the best of my ability, I thought. In order for anything to change in a relationship the people involved in the relationship need to change. All it takes is one person willing to change or say I am not going to react this way when he/she does this to me.
I believe people get so bogged down with life that they don’t take the time to enjoy their relationships, me included. Sometimes we need to stop and just take some time to enjoy one another. The relationship fitness class stirred up some emotions that were good and bad. My emotions are just letting me know that Daryl has alot of work to do on himself. When problems arise in my life and I feel like blaming other people. I must first look at myself and see how I could have done things differently.
Nothing really happens without relationships with other people. Through relationships I have found my purpose in life. It took me along time to realize that I have a gift worth sharing and a passion for working with youung people. Even though people always told me that this is the direction I should go in, I fought it. The world we live in is based on relationships and how we perform within those relationships. A wise man told me that “The relationships you have with your daughters are very important to their development as they mature into womanhood.”
In closing I just wanted to share with you an experience that I found wonderful to be a part of. I will really focus on developing positive relationships with current friends and people who I will meet in the future. If you have any conflicts in any of your relationships, take a step back and totally examine yourself. You will be surprised at what you will find. Work on you and your relationships will prosper.Daryl
