Some reflections of life, importance of knowing why I believe something.
Hi there, just been thinking and wondering. Is the world a fair place?.I like to think that everyone receive what they deserve sooner or later, but in the meantime people remains unpunished; is that intentionally?.If i do something bad,do I deserve the punishment immediately?,or I deserve it later in a happy moment?.
Can I escape from it? Maybe doing something good, but if I do something good to escape from the punishment is not that i am a good person,so I deserve it anyway.
I believe in god, does he cares how we die? Maybe that is not important to him because this life is something small compared with the next step. This is a rational explanation to that, but, can I use the reason to explain something like that?.
When reason deals with issues and experience is not there to help things go complicated. That’s the field of belief, the field that makes us unique.
Who am I?,maybe I am what I believe. Many people believe the same things, does that make us equal?.
No!,Because the really important thing is why I believe what I Believe. I can believe something because someone else tell me and convinced me at the time. I can believe something for fear.
I can believe something because my idol say it.
I can believe something to enter in a group and be accepted, lying to myself.
I can believe something because science say it etc.
I think that The things that really matter needs better reasons. And the things that really matter must be understood,if I understand why i believe something, I can defend (better) my ideas, I can change or mix them.
And then get to my truth,a truth that can change constantly, if i don’t understand why i believe something, how can i fight for it?
For example, people can give their life’s for their love, and why is that?
Its because they understand how much they need the other person, they understand how painful could be lose their beloved person.
After that, they can even risk their lives for a stranger. (Because they understand the value of life)
Lets put it this way!.
Imagine this: a guy is walking on the street and he finds a suitcase full of money, suppose (if you want) that he needs the money.
-(1)there is people that will return the money without a moment of pause …without even think it
-(2)there is people that will steal the money without a moment of pause …without even think it
-(3)there is people that will think about it … and later return it
-(4)there is people that will think about it … and later steal it. Etc.
Now…which is more odd?.
In the first case, that people may not be good or bad, they just act, they don’t have a conflict (is a possibility that they can not have a conflict because they are too good, but that is more than odd)
Now,in the case 3,you can think that he is a bad person, but if he,after of think about it, returns the money, does not he do something more difficult than the first? (supposing that he do not return it for fear).
If you give time (to think) to the guy of the first case,he may not return it because he didn’t see earlier how much he need it Etc.
The guy of the third case knows all that he can do with that money but instead he do the right thing.
The first case represents someone who doesn’t knows what he believes.
The third case represents someone who knows what he believes.
which is more reliable?.(in real life you cant ask that is too contingent) (for the good of the example think abstractly).
Well, before I leave,I know that I haven’t said something new here ,I knew it all along, but I thought(while I was wondering stuff) that it was important to remember that a Life without reflection is not worth to live.
