The Union of Cleaments – A Nation of Heroes

It was 1963 – Glieseian year.  The Union of Cleaments, is an established and stable country with a flourishing economy under a free and democratic government. Every citizen of this country has hope and pride in their homeland and their government. Every citizen is happy and contented with their lives. It’s the most secure and aspiring power in the planet. Almost a paradise. Little do they know that things are going to  change real soon!

Discovery of a Planet

The “blue planet” (another term for earth), was devastated by a series of catastrophic earth-changing events. At that time, human technology prevailing on earth was primitive compared to other planetary systems existing in the universe. Lucky for them and before disasters struck, human scientists were able to  break the code and develop a technology in time travel. Theoretically, it has been known by humans that time travel is possible via a network called “worm holes” in the universe. These holes are like tunnels similar to terrestrial road networks on earth but unlike it , the rider is transported to other galaxies and planets in the universe on a comparatively short amount of time at almost the speed of light. Thus, time travel was conceived in the minds of human scientists and in the earth-year 2009 – it was realized! It happened with the discovery of the god-particle, known as the origin of the universe. It is the very space material that the universe is made of. The main reason why the universe, its galaxies and planets exists!

There was little time to test the new technology. Animals, as test dummies,  were zapped thru galaxies and back but with little success. Some came back mutilated, some died, while majority of the test animals never returned. The scientists targeted different galaxies and planets with little or no success. It made them wonder. What happened to those animals transported to those planets? Are they alive? If yes, are they going to be the source of a new life if nothing exists yet on any of those planets? Will they be the catalyst for a new evolution of its terrestrial species? If intelligent life exists in those planets, will the animals be worshipped as gods similar to ancient pagan religions on earth?It raises more questions than answers. With the advent of the catastrophe, a group of scientists from different nationalities in every nation of earth were gathered by the most powerful nations at that time. Selected individuals from the most affluent strata of life is to be transported to a planet called Gliese 581g, termed as the “goldilocks planet”, not too hot, not too cold, but just enough to have liquid water, the most vital component of life on earth. Its distance is just 20 light years away. The people were scared but excited at the same time. They have nothing to lose but everything to gain, after all, life on earth is on the verge of extinction. They are going to be the pioneers for a new life. A fresh start for humankind on another planet. Aliens transplanted to a terrestrial planet. A new breed of humankind to be called “Glieseians”!
