When did children get the right to stop respecting their elders? I have always heard the saying in order to get respect you have to give respect, evidently not now days. Children think because we cannot whoop them {not beat them} but discipline them because the law took that away they can do whatever they please.

I have seen kids beat on their parents, call them names, and even go as far as spit in their face but what are the parents to do. When I was a child I would get my butt spanked for these types of acts and I grew up fine. I am not giving reasons why a child should be abused that is not right but just get disciplined for their actions. We as society wonder what has happened to our children, they do not have to respect anyone because the law states if a parent is caught whooping their child they either get a fine, jail time, or their children taken away. I do not agree with this but after all this is just my opinion .
