title: little blue penguin

author: Catherine Mair

type: poetry

this poem is about dying blue penguins, but don’t get the wrong idea, i really liked this poem, if i didn’t i won’t write a response on it, in this poem she describes i dead penguin that is floating in the water, it sounds bad but you have to read the poem to know, i like this poem because i had experienced the same this on great barrier island of the coast of new zealand, and i would look at them with pitty, and i also love the way she gave the details, not in a disgusting way but in a loving calming way, and also how she explain the background with the littlest details of a shoe or a glove all in one poem, i really loved the closing line ” as he held your limp neck body in his hand a drop of diluted blood fell from your beck” this line really touched me and i think this is a good poem for anyone who is against the death of nature
