There are times we feel we want to stop what we are doing, it is because of tiredness. Well, we need to rest sometimes to regain our strength.
In life, we are taught that to get that longed for success, we must advance; meaning, we must move forward to a particular goal. Although it is true, that principle is not absolute. Our physical bodies, and that includes our brains, sometimes need to rest from the sizzling pressures of life. Here are a few phrases extracted from a book entitled “ AN ENEMY CALLED AVERAGE” that can help us understand things better.
“When we draw away for a time, we can see and hear much more clearly about how to go ahead”
“Silence is an environment in which great ideas are birthed”
Choose to retreat, not for defeat , but in order to have a stronger step to move ahead. Here’s a verse taken from the Bible that can make our retreat more effective. It talks about waiting on the Lord, waiting for his guidance.
Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.”
