Pros and Cons of a Beautiful Relationship

Pros:

·         True Love and Compassion

o   They have profound affection for each other. They meet at any possible time

·         They complete each other

o   This is shown in the sun and moon metaphor as well. They complement each other. Romeo is rash and impulsive while Juliet is more careful and patient.

·         Faithful to each other

o   Though her parents forced Juliet to be wedded to Paris, Juliet did anything in her power to avoid it.

·         Ended the family feud

o   After the tragic death of the two lovers, the families shared a mutual feeling of grief and sympathy. They actually said they would make a statue of each other’s children in their memory. They had all come together not for bitter dispute, but for a peaceful resolve.

Cons:

·         Ended up dying for each other

o   Romeo killed himself thinking his love was dead, knowing she was his only reason to live. Upon awakening, Juliet is heartbroken of her husband’s death and stabs herself.

·         Innocent people killed

o   Tybalt, Mercutio, Lady Montague, Paris, Romeo, and Juliet.

·         Distress to both families

o   The Montague’s had to live with their son banished from Verona. The Capulet’s had to suffer Tybalt’s loss as well as Juliet’s desire not to marry. Both families had to deal with the stress and grief of all the deaths of their family.

·         Went against parent’s wishes

o   The families hated eachother, but they still fell in love and married. The Capulet’s were infuriated when they found out Juliet did not want to marry Paris and was dead.

·         Rushed and abrupt

o   4 days, fall in love and marry.

·         Crushes Juliet’s relationship with her nurse

o   Nurse wanted her to marry Paris, which surprised Juliet because the nurse was no longer supporting her endeavors with Romeo.
