I wanted to write a piece on my opinion that would save our countries a lot of money.

Five years ago if someone had told me that I would be writing about something so horific (and I do still believe it is horific) I would have not believed you but now times are changing and so are my beliefs.

I now believe the best thing our country could do is to bring in the death penalty.

It is to my belief that the main thing that was stopping it coming to Ireland in the first place was the Catholic Church which in my Opinion doesn’t exactly deserve a say anymore. Don’t get me wrong I will still bring my children to be christened and to make their holy communion and confirmation and still although not too soon I do plan on getting married but I no longer believe that the priest of today are solely out to preach God’s words.

It is with a grave injustice that some of our beliefs where questioned because of what some men choose to do but it also a great injustice that the men that we were to go to, to pray for our sins and to help guide us along a path that would lead us to purety and to a happier way of living took away the pureness and happiness of living out of peope. If this crime was not bad enough those men preech about confession and forgiveness yet they could not confess what they had done. They could not seek out even the question of forgivness and sat in their confesstion box listening to a little girl probobly telling how she didn’t clean her room when her mammy asked her to. Or a little boy talking about him picking up a bar that he didn’t pay for whilst they told the ones who where brave enough to confess their sins and ordered them to say 10 hale mary’s I sit and wonder, I wonder how many prayers they said to try and get themselves redeemed, I wonder if they said a prayer at all.

It is this type of person I do now believe does not deserve to live. I am not a jury, judge and would not have the heart to be an executioner but when I read about a child dieing and the hands of his mother. Or a mother being jailed for the rape of her son it sadens me that in 4 years and 7 years these people will be walking around again able to have more children and commit more crimes.

I understand people will think my words are true and people may think that what I am saying is a discrace but I ask you this.

When each person in a prison cost at least a quarter of a million a year and in more cases than not will reoffend when realeased I ask you what is a better way to save our country and make the world a better place for our children and our grand children by not letting these people loose on the streets again and saving a lot of money in the process.
