Global Warming is caused when too much carbon dioxide enters the atmosphere, which causes polar ice caps to melt. This harmful heat in the air is causing no snow days, endangering species that are accustomed to cold weather, and leading to a global disaster that we’ll regret one day if it continues. Now, you would want to do something for the environment, right? Hopefully. Here are some small things you can do in the comfort of your home while saving some money.

First off, trees are important for taking in the extra carbon dioxide and producing oxygen. So, buy any tree you want (oak and pine are recommended) and plant it either in your front or back yard. Once the tree grows to adulthood, it would be able to take away pounds of carbon dioxide per year! The bigger the back or front yard, the more trees you should plant. Its simple to care for a tree, just give it sunshine and water, and it’s price is moderately fair.

Whenever you’re in the shower or brushing your teeth, try to use as little water as possible. When brushing, turn the faucet on only when you need to rinse the tooth brush. Also, when taking a shower, go as quickly as you can and get out ASAP. Try not to sing in the shower, because your wasting water as you do this, instead, sing into a brush or something after or before a shower.

With garbage, it would be wise to have two pails for your disposables. One trash can would serve as anything that can’t be recycled, while the other is for recycling purposes. You would be recycling nearly 30 lbs. of garbage a year just by doing this! Recycling is helpful for preventing any reusable items being stuck in a land fill, which is harmful to wild life.

Next, is gasoline usage. The most common source of extra carbon dioxide. Instead of driving some car that uses 15 MPG, get a Hybrid or a Chevy that specifically design cars to be fuel-efficient. This simple change would cut low on how much gasoline is used, which affects how much enters the air. Also, if a place is close by where a car ride would not be needed, use a bike or some other form of transportation. This will help you cut down on gas, and keep in shape

Finally, there are solar panels. Solar panels is a very costly product, however, it is very useful once it is installed. The electric company pays you if you don’t use a minimum amount of energy, this money, wether you want to or not, can be used to donate to charities that help protect the planet. If you don’t do that, then your at least cutting down on energy, which is good.

Polar bears, penguins, and other artic creatures are becoming endangered as we continue to make these everyday mistakes. Also, once all that ice up there melts, it’ll be one heck of a flood. Why risk or potentially destroy this planet, follow these instructions and you may just make a small contribution to the world.
