Do we possess a soul, and if so where is it?

Many people share a belief in reincarnation – the belief that the soul leaves the body after death and returns in a different body.

Today, the medical world and even scientists are investigating the possible existence of a soul which survives after death.

In 1975, Dr. RA. Moody’s book “Life After Death” was published. He drew up a composite list of near-death experiences (NDE); based on the revelations of 150 people who were revived after being certified clinically dead.

1. They hear the doctor pronounce them dead.

2. They look down at doctors trying to save them.

3. Suddenly they move through a dark tunnel.

4. They see friends and relatives who are dead.

5. A “being of light” asks them to look back at their life, but no words are seen to be spoken.

6. They see a barrier between earthly life and the afterlife.

There is an urgency to return to their bodies, but they do not want to because the “being of light” is filling them with wonderful feelings of love, joy and peace,

8. They return to earthly life unable to find words to describe the wonderful feelings felt outside of their bodies. They now feel they understand the purpose of living, and have no fear of death.

So what is NDE? Does a soul really separate from the body and float around above the corpse? Is it sent on some cosmic dimension through a black hole to meet long dead friends and relatives? Who is this “being of light” who talks without any movement of lips? Who in some way sends out strong feelings of love, peace and joy, which nearly overcomes the urgency to return to the body.

There are many suggestions to what really happens, Drugs given to patients who are dying; psychedelics, marijuana and the like, all cause hallucinations, but not one drug tested has been able to copy the symptoms of NDE.
