I enjoy writing interactive pieces, because after all, isn’t connecting with one another what it’s all about as writers? Today, I wanted to focus on most embarrassing moments. Most embarrassing moments provide a good laugh for one and all, but also provide an opportunity of reflection and humility that can lead to growth.
I’ll start. When I was in college, I became very ill while sitting in a lecture. I went to the bathroom to relieve myself and when I did so, I launched explosive diarrhea all over the toilet and the walls. It had that horrible viral odor about it, too. I had to scrub diarrhea off the toilet and the walls of the stall. I was too embarrassed to tell anyone what was gowing on. I knew the cleaning staff would be by shortly to clean the bathrooms.
I decided to suck it up and return to class. On of my cohorts returned from break to announce to the class that someone was “very sick” in the bathroom. I stuck it out for the rest of the lecture and then scurried home to crawl into my sick bed.
Lesson learned: if you’re sick, you’re sick. Don’t try to be a hero. It only results in ”bad crap” happening and spreading germs to other people.
Your turn!
