Small things sometimes make it big in the end…

A tree looked down to a flower one day and said, “Look how useless you are! Why aren’t you strong and useful like me? People build boxes and chairs and houses from my wood. I am very strong. I can stand here for years even when the wind blows. I pity you. You are so tiny that just little wind would blow you out of the stem.”

The tiny flower dropped her petals and said nothing.

That night, a strong wind blew. It blew so hard that everything that grew shook and quivered. With rattling crashing sound, it hit the old tree. With loud thud, the tree fell crashing on the ground. The little flower clutched firmly on the soil. It was so small that the wind just blew around it. It was so soft that it swayed with the wind.

The next morning, the sun shone brightly on a little flower that stood erect beside a fallen tree.

This is a good story for children and adults alike. I should let my 16-year old daughter read this. She always had to struggle with her height. Salamat sa kuwento.
