The is a true account of spiritual visitations that I experienced as a child. There were many of the “ghost” sightings that were never explained. Most spirits were harmless, but, some were quite sinister in nature. Growing up, I thought all children had these spiritual visitations.
I realize that most people don’t believe in spirits and what many call ghosts, however, I can’t help but believe, because I have experienced these phenomenon first hand. As a child, I would always see odd things, like, shadows, figures, talking spirits and strange sounds. When you are raised in a home where these things aren’t treated like they are out of the ordinary, you tend to think all children can see spirits. I know, most people call them ghosts, but, as I have grown to understand what those occurrences were, I have abandoned the word ghost. I think of them as just spirits. While, ghosts are said to be people who were once alive, I don’t believe this. I believe they are spirits that attach themselves to people or places, but, aren’t the spirits of anyone who has died. The reason I believe this is because in all of my encounters, not one time have I talked to or seen someone whom I knew at one time was alive on this earth. Until that happens, I will continue to refer to them as just spirits.
Most of the supernatural or spiritual visitations that I experienced were when I was a young child. As I grew older, these incidents became fewer and further apart. I don’t know if it’s because these spirits moved on, or because as I grew older, I didn’t pay them much attention and they couldn’t bother me anymore. I am inclined to think they didn’t just moved on. So, why did I experience these spiritual visitations? I really have no idea; it was possibly a spiritual gift passed down from generations. For most of my life I was told that I may have been born with a veil over my face. As a child, you hear these things, but, you don’t really understand what they truly mean. I just went with the flow, knowing that any day or night, I might encounter some spirit.
Oddly enough, I don’t remember ever been very afraid, normally. There were some spiritual visitations that were quite scary, mostly the shadows or small creatures that didn’t look like anything of this world. And, then, there were the eerie sounds that would come in the night or just about any time. These experiences happened when I was quite young, but, I still remember a few quite vividly.
This spirit appeared quite often. She would stand in my window, head to toe and she never said a word. She just stood there. I can remember asking my sister if she saw the lady, and she said she did. It was nice to know I wasn’t alone in my experiences, but, most of the time, I was. For some reason, out of all of the children in the house, I would see these things the most. My sister and I came to the conclusion that this was an angel who was sent to protect us. No other explanation made sense, because it wasn’t just one sighting, it happened many times when I was a child.
