Blogging can be its own reward, but wouldn’t it be nice to get paid for you opinion?

Blogs has become a word that everyone has recently become accustomed to hearing. Many people hear the word and quickly assume, “Why would I want to read someone’s diary?”. Because of this quick assumption many people miss the great opportunity that a blog gives them.

A blog is like a mini reality TV-show of what is going on inside someone’s head. The great thing about a blog is the fact that it lets you express yourself freely. It lets you talk about whatever you want to talk about whenever you want to talk about it. It’s a great way for you to share your thoughts to a wide range of the public and contrary to popular belief a blog doesn’t always have to be like a diary. Some of the most successful bloggers out there talk about real-time media events or new technological breakthroughs. There’s a reason why some people create these types of blogs and I’ll share this knowledge with you if you already didn’t know.

It is true that some bloggers just like to share their thoughts and express their opinions. The fact of the matter is that those bloggers represent the minority of the blogger population. The great thing about a blog is that it can bring in revenue. There are many ways to achieve revenue from a blog but the most popular method is through affiliate marketing. Now, I’m not going to describe affiliate marketing in detail because there are many people out there that can explain that to you, but here are the basics.

First step is to find a niche, preferably something you’re passionate about because it’s a lot easier to write about something you like than about something that you have no interest in. Second step would be setting up your blog. You can do this by buying a domain and web hosting or you could just use some of the free blogging sites out there like “Blogger”. Third step is finding someone who will pay you a commission for referring someone to their site and buying their product. After all that is done, its time to blog. Write a short review with your thoughts about the product you’re advertising. It doesn’t have to be anything too big, just a couple of thoughts like pros and cons of the product.

Now that your blog is up and posted you only have one step left. Getting traffic. This is one of the trickiest things to do but it’s not impossible. Sites like Squidoo and Hubpages are great for posting up articles that have links leading back to your blog.

Now that you’ve read the basic theory on money making with blogs, you may want to read up on the details. This only brushed the dust off the book its time to open the book and read the details.

Thanks for the info here. I’ve always wondered what the heck the big thing about blogging is so now I know. I might try my hand at it later on. Many thanks.

I learned a while back, finally, to build blogs, but there are still some things that I can’t get to work for me. I’m sure just like everything else I’ve learned on my own to get here, that I will eventually learn the rest by trial and error.
