William Shakespeare was born on April 23, 1564 to

tford Grammar School and never went on to Oxford or Cambridge. William Shakespeare wrote 13 comedies, 13 historical plays, 6 tragedies, 4 tragicomedies and many sonnets. By 1594, Shakespeare had written at least six plays. In 1582, at the age of 18, William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway who was 26. The next year Susanna Shakespeare was born and two years later followed twins, Judith and Hamnet. In 1599, Shakespeare and six other men bought a new outdoor theatre in London called The Globe, which was one of the biggest theatres in England.

They entertained the court of King James I. and they were called King´s Men. William Shakespeare died on his birthday in 1616 at the age of 52. Scroll down to see W. Shakespear’s Gravestone.
