Steroids are a known drug to enhance the human muscles they are illegal in the United States. The reason they are illegal is because they have been known to cause death and are classified as a health hazard. But some doctors believe that the hype the government has put on steroids is actually false some doctors believe that steroids are not as bad as they are set out to be. Steroids are only legal on medical conditions. Some citizens think it is right for steroids to stay illegal, but on the other hand citizens believe that steroids should be legal. This issue has turned into a huge controversy.

Steroids have been said to cause suicidal thoughts when in fact steroid users say they have never had a thought about suicide with steroids. More people die smoking cigarettes then using anabolic steroids and cigarettes are still legal. A lot of doctors and teachers say don’t do steroids because they ruin peoples life but the truth is there is no significant amount of proof for that to be true. Legalizing the use of steroids would actually help the economy because the state would be allowed to put a tax on the drug. A lot of people would start using anabolic steroids but there is more danger in smoking cigarettes and legalizing marijuana then there are in using steroids. The only side effects in using steroids is that it can cause acne and also it can cause “Roid Rage” which means that the user can have an increase in their temper. Many people still believe that it is not enough to make it illegal.

Government officials have said the steroids are a health hazard, so are cigarettes’ and they are still legal, and if steroids are controlled by a licensed doctor the drug may have less side effects because the doctor knows the right amount to inject. One of the major problems with steroids is overdosing but as mentioned with supervision of a doctor that can be prevented. A type of steroid is already legal and on the markets it is called “Tren” or “Extreme Tren” which is almost identical to anabolic steroids and there have not been any known problems with it. Tren is mainly used by teenagers in high school sports such as football and it has shown less side effects. People say steroid is cheating because it is a performance enhancer, but what people don’t know is that caffeine is a enhancer because it gives you more energy for a task you wouldn’t be able to do without it and people don’t complain about it. The truth about steroids is that it gives you an edge on the activity you are using it for. People that are users say that not only would athletes use them, they believe that the kids who get bullied would be able to stand up for them self’s and it would improve their self-esteem. Users are angry at the fact that our governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was a user of anabolic steroids for many years; he had even admitted that he was using them but now he is on board with the law saying that it should stay illegal.
