Now that it’s summer, the scorching heat makes me want to stay in water all day long. Sounds like fun right? The only problem is, I can’t swim.
Yes, I can’t swim. I never learned how to swim. Actually I did take classes as a kid but we never paid attention to those classes. We were busy playing on our own and whenever the coach called us, we hid underwater or in the lockers. I always felt it was a good thing tricking teachers, when I was a kid but sadly no, you’re the one in loss. All of my friends know how to swim now, except a few, and yes, they were the ones who played with me.
Anyway it’s never too late to learn so I am determined to learn a few basics this year. Actually I had the same determination last year too, but it soon got vanished when I almost drowned 4 times in the sea. I went to the beach with a few friend last year and they promised to teach me a few things there. But since I’m a noob at swimming, even the basics were overwhelming. It wasn’t fun drinking all the salt water and getting pulled out by the hair. And getting a nasty sunburn at the same time. The funny thing was, the water was around my shoulder level but still I managed to get almost drowned.
Ok this year I won’t be heading to the beach directly. I’ll be visiting the swimming pools with a few friends and hopefully learn somethings. I never knew I’d regret not leaning how to swim. Had I paid attention to those classes…..
Anyway the damage is done, no use regretting now.
Thanks for reading and if you do have some tips about swimming, I would love to know them.
