Life is the hardest, most mysterious, most confusing thing I’ve ever heard of. You can try to search it on Google and end up with a million hits but still learn so little about it.

Talking about life reminds me of everything I’ve been through and everything else I want to experience. It reminds me of time and how you can’t relive the seconds you cherished the most in your life. And it also reminds me of death and whatever may come after that.

When they teach us about life, they always talk about making the right choices and choosing what we think is right. They tell us about the road we’re in which is supposed to represent life and how it divides into two different roads which represent our choices; one good, one bad. However, real life is not that simple. There are more than two roads in real life and probably more than one is good or bad. If not, every road is good or every road is bad.

Being fourteen, recognizing the right path to take is quite hard. I mean, I’d be lucky if I can even differentiate the right choice from the bad or if there is a good choice from all the choices I have. Yes, there’s always a good choice but trying to find it is hard. They always tell us to make the right choices but they don’t exactly teach us how. Seeing it in this perspective, I’d rather take the bad choice than tire myself from looking for a good one.

What I’m trying to say is that life comes in many choices, choices we alone make for ourselves. Take for example, a child from a broken family. It wasn’t his choice to have divorced parents but it’s his choice to let it go. He can make the right choices so that his family problems won’t have any negative impacts on his life. He can make so many choices which can greatly benefit him and can change his life for good.

Time is another obstacle which comes with life. Even if we spend it in happiness, it’s still a challenge. Why? Because we can’t experience it again. Spending it in happiness will make you wish you can relive those moments again but you can’t or it can make you wish that that moment would never end but it will. Spending it in tears, however, is more of a challenge. If we spend our time in sorrow, we feel down and heartbroken which is such a waste of the short time we’re given. And the worst part is we can’t change anything. We can’t change the emotions we felt or change the things we did. Soon we’ll think, “How stupid of me to waste my time on that useless thing.” Yeah, we can grieve for something we lost but we shouldn’t dwell too long for these things. Time passes by in just a blink of an eye. So, why waste it?

Death is another story. It’s just as mysterious, confusing and unknown as life. The only difference is that life, we lived it, death, no one knows.

Just continue your journey and see where it takes you. The further you go, the wiser you’ll get.
