1) let your rats explore a little, if they arnt used to the environment they arnt going to focus on you

2) wait until your rat comes to explore you, make the sound you what to mean “come” (it can be a word or a sound, either way it should work, i make a clicking sound) then give them a treat, this shows that the sound means food

3) start teaching them when they come to explore you that you will make the sound and they will get a treat, this may take a few repititions

4) after you think they have it then when they walk away from you make the sound, if they come right back give a treat

5)if they don’t then wait until they look like they are comeing over to you, make the sound, and treat

6) agian this may take a while, but as time goes on they associate the sound with treats, and will come to you even if you are out of sight!

Some rats may take longer then others to understand this training, and some may want to explore before coming back to you, so be patient. This is somthing you should teach rats, even if they arnt free roaming, this is because if a rat were to get loose you have a way of calling it back. Make sure to practice often to keeping it in their mind. Hope this helps make life with these critters better for you both!=)
