A thank you to everyone who helps the world be a better place.

After Hurrincane Irene made her way through our paths, I had to stop and think about the workers. How lucky is our world to have such dedicated people thats will put their life on the line for ours? Amazing.

Imagine how many workers from all over the United States have left their families and own homes to go and aide with the help of cleaning up after Irene.

I know in my little town of Watkins Glen, NY we have had State Workers, Fireman and Electrical workers pack up and move out to help others.

I dont think the world really thinks about how much these workers sacarafice. I personally know this because my husband works for our local electric company, NYSEG and is out of town helping with turning power on for the millions that are without. These workers work long, hard hours and deal not only with their work, but the weather conditions also. They walk through floods, snow drifts, woods and whatever else may be in their way to help us.

My Husband gets called out all hours of the night and he leaves his own family to deal with matters to be able to help others.

Do those “others” think about the families these workers are leaving behind? Do they thank them for getting out of bed in the middle of the night and getting their power back on? Not usually. That is the sad part. People these days have a hard time thinking about others. My husband has had the rudest people yelling at him asking when their @#$#@# power will be back on. I call this ignorance.

How would the world survive without these dedicated people? Do you think about the safety of the Lineman up in the air working on voltage as a thunderstorm is going on above his head? I sure do! Do you think about thanking the workers instead of being angry it took them so long? I sure do.

I personally want to thank all of these workers for all they do for us. The electrical workers, phone companies, red cross, fireman and everyone else down the line that helps when needed.

Am I the only one in the world that has praise for these folks? Not at all, and I thank those of you who are on the same line of thinking. Now, we just have to get the rest of the people on board. Then maybe, just maybe, we would have a little more respect for others.

Just my daily thoughts folks, hope you enjoyed the read:)

Enjoy your days and remember to smile!
