I love to keep up with the news but there is so much back talk and finger pointing it just makes you sick to the stomach, well it does to me anyway.

The powers that be say that the recession is getting better, if so then why did the House of Representatives approve to extend 13 more weeks of unemployment checks for people who have  maxed out their extensions?  If the recession is getting better than why did our beloved President who has a heart and really does care about the American people, say the other day that it will take another year before we get out of the recession?

Then of course keeping up with the news, if you’re like me you switch the channels and you see stations like CNN, Headline News (owned by CNN, just another faster format), MSNBC, Fox News (egad!), ABC, NBC, CBS, not to mention your local news, on each channel you have these so called ‘experts’ who argue whether or not the recession is indeed getting better.

From my own personal experience living in Los Angeles with my 72 year old nosy mother, it is not getting better.  As I take a walk in the afternoon or go to a movie and catch an early matinée, I see more adults on the street in passing, I doubt when the recession gets better that you will see many adults like myself at the movies catching a matinée.

Politics sucks, local government sucks, they all make promises but lie in the end and they participate in back door business affairs.  As our President has said again and again, as he also mentioned recently the other day on David Letterman’s show, ‘we did not get into this mess over night, and we are not going to get out of this mess over night, it will take time to get out of this mess.’ Boy is he ever so right.  Let’s hope that soon we will get out of this mess, that everything will get better than before, and let’s hope let’s really hope that we have learned from our mistakes and we will take note of this all important lesson about greed.

Yeah I know what you’re thinking and what you’re probably saying as you read this article, well I too agree, I doubt that we have learned our lesson and I’m sure that this will happen again in the future, simply because some (not all) of the powers that be are greedy and they never have enough, they want more! I guess they forgot the old saying  ’you can’t take it with you,’ hmm maybe they need to talk to Bernie Madoff.
