Just a thought as you celebrate Christmas.

Christmas time 2009 I had finished my shopping and was making my way home

The turkey and ham weighed heavily in my bag and I began to wish I hadn’t bought so much, I guess I had spent more this year then I have ever done, but then it was Christmas and I was determined that my family would have a good time.

I first saw her sitting in a doorway, she looked tired and hungry

Her tattered clothes reflected the sorry state she was in

She held a cup in her hands which contained a few coins

As I dropped a couple of coins into her cup I lent over her;

 ”Are you OK” I uttered?

It’s just that you seem a little troubled

“I’m OK” she whispered just a little sad

“Oh why is that i asked”? Have you been hurt?

“Well yes” she said no one will talk to me

And I feel a little sad and lonely

“Never mind” I said, you are never alone when you dream.

Why not lay your head down and sleep, perchance to dream

I will watch over you.

She laid her limp body down and in no time fell into a deep dream.
