A person’s spirit can be likened to a ship’s rudder, without which the ship cannot sail. Our trials and endeavors are guided by our spirit on which all our activities depend, without which, there can be no achievements, regardless of our mental faculties.

The foundation and the cornerstone

And pillars of a building grand,

Or lowly must depend alone

On how each fits upon a land

Incorporated in a plan.

Equal to the task of man

Or woman of enduring trust

Are faith and hope intended ere

These be applied to well-adjust

To life and love and utmost care –

A noble challenge no less than

The challenge of a building plan.

Much like an architect that draws

The diagrams before the start

Of building for a worthy cause,

It being considered as a part

Of progress right within the sphere

Of needs society holds dear,

The human spirit leaps to touch

The furthest points of faith and trust.

Even when struggling far too much,

It stays but kindled as it must,

Maintaining its pre-eminence

In no less than a godly sense.
