THE COCKROACH PART FOUR

After we had rested, our quest for the giant cockroach resumed. Floating around effortlessly now, Dave and I spotted those tell tell tractor like marks left by the creature. It appeared as if it were moving toward down town Phoenix, so off we went. We came across a trail of destroyed houses and buildings and knew that we were on the right trail.

We caught a glimpse of the creature going into the America West Arena

(Home of the Suns) where it just so happens that an exhibition game was scheduled today.

We had to do something to save the Suns.

We oozed ourselves through the walls and began to search. The thing was nowhere in sight, it had obviously shrank itself again. What to do to save the Suns was our dilemma. In order to save them, it was plain as day, that we would have to destroy the arena to keep the suns from coming in here, because we will never find that creature in its shrunken state.

We looked and we thought, we thought and we looked. Finally we found a maintenance room with lots of valves and gages. HMmm? We thought, and then went about mentally opening up every valve. But, having no substance no way to engage a spark, we had to depend on chance, when wouldn’t you know it, around the corner came a worker in the process of lighting a cigarette. As he flicked his Bic, our hearts filled with glee as the arena went up in a ball of flames. We have saved the Suns, Dave said, we may have lost a few hundred fans and some arena workers, but we saved the Suns. Yeah!
