A sneak peak into what college is like and what an average India Adolescent goes through.
This is not an article by someone who detests studies but by someone who dearly loves studies. Apart from his love of studies, he also cares – cares for oneself, probably cares for a few others of his kind and also cares for the society. To be truthful, this care is not a result of only brotherhood, but it is partly a result of “self advantage”. It has surfaced because I want to make myself heard on behalf of myself, and many of my age mates.
The unignorable fact now-a-days is the “development” of Hyderabadis. The definition of a ‘modern’ Hyderabadi would be something like this: someone working at a call centre/BPO, sporting a broad rimmed frame, proudly flaunting a pot belly, with the eyes and head steadily held down, with a bag in hand, walking along the road, all his tension revealed by his expressions, not even looking to a side, with the cell phone and ID card hanging in the neck, not at all confident of oneself, leading a completely theoretical and impractical life.
Yes, this is the new breed of Hyderabadis which are being produced from the “corporate barracks” for probably the “corporate world”. By corporate barracks I mean to refer to the corporate schools and colleges which have come up in plenty in the city and occupied a significant place in the “study business”, or rather “study biz” (to be read similar to showbiz).
Yes this dirty world, these corporate colleges are just here to make money. Since the two year business is dying down, few have ventured into the ten year money making business by opening schools. In this article, I wish to talk about the two pathetic, torture filled years in corporate colleges, and the ten – twelve years in corporate schools, I shall leave for you to imagine.
They have earned reputation, no doubt in that but this reputation is false and fickle. It is mostly a result of their ability to publicise and also their ability to play dirty ‘mind games’. Let us first look at the reason why such colleges are in demand. “They have secured 80 out of the top 100 ranks in EAMCET”, you might hear many amazed souls exclaim in wonder and appreciation, carried off by the publicity and advertisements.
