A sneak peak into what college is like and what an average India Adolescent goes through.
There are colleges which get a fair amount of ranks and a good result, but they don’t publicise. Even if their results dwindle a bit, its not because their standard of imparting education is going down, it is because the best performers are in corporate hells attracted by the lure of “free seats and ranks”.
Still children are forced to go to such places for the sake of rank. The name of a college doesn’t guarantee any rank, any where you go, it depends on the student. Knowledge and wisdom are nothing in comparison to rank. We are getting such rankers who would occupy the medical and engineering seats and put our future in dire states.
It’s no wonder that we don’t have another Ramanujan or Kalam in the offing. No wonder we are unable to come with medicines for newly coming up diseases. It wont be a surprise if the newspapers flash the headlines that doctors are either afraid or are unable to treat special and out-of-the-book type of cases. We will getting professional who won’t be in a position to apply logic, assess and analyse situations, think rationally and make spontaneous decisions, if the degree colleges too follow the corporate methods. Imagine such professionals as doctors in O.T, pilots on a flight, etc.
The new breed of people can just live on books, theoretically. What befalls when talent is curbed, when youth is caged, when the potential leaders, scientists, etc are ripped off their special abilities, when books replace brains, when cramming becomes an approach……the rest is left for you to think, ask and answer for yourself. If we’re game for such a society, forget about progress, development and achievement because they require something special and exceptional.
