This articles throws light on the role of mind and thoughts in affecting one’s health.

It is such a natural thing to whine and grumble thinking about your boss’ reaction while being stuck in traffic. Natural but healthy? Certainly not.

All you are doing while complaining is creating more such experiences. Literally!

What most people don’t realize is that just like never take a break from breathing, our heart doesn’t rest a minute to overcome a fatigue and the cells don’t pause for a yawn, the mind also is not familiar with the idea of resting. This suggests that your mind is flooded with tons of thoughts every hour of every day! Sounds fictitious? Well, it can’t be denied that it is equally true if not more true.

Researchers have revealed that an average human mind produces at least 60,000 thoughts a day. However, the story does not end here. Interestingly each one of these thoughts has a direct impact on the actions that we take; the decisions that we make; our moods and subsequently our healthy.

Yes, you read it right. Our thoughts can and do affect our health.

To understand the above fact better you might want to know how that builds up. Right? So read on.

Firstly, it is very important to understand that all the thoughts that ever pop into our minds come from one of the two sources, namely the conscious mind and the subconscious mind.

The Conscious mind is responsible for all the thoughts that we choose to think. Which means we have complete control over them and can replace them with other thoughts (again conscious thoughts) with more beneficial ones.

The Subconscious mind on the other hand, provides you with the thoughts that come directly from you beliefs. For example, you have had certain dangerous or fearful experiences driving through a strong downpour, your subconscious mind creates an association with that experience which we better know as a belief. So next time, you face a similar situation your subconscious mind steps in with thoughts of fear toward a similar activity. Say riding a bike on a rainy day.

Although, the subconscious mind here saves time by saving the memory and the appropriate feeling and hence the automatic response; it more often than not can create hurdles and cause a feeling of low confidence in the bearer of the thought.

Negative beliefs could be seemingly mild.

For instance, Oily food is tasty but very dangerous in the long run. Thanks to the edible oil ads that today most of us hold this belief. Now every time that person eats something even mildly oily, their mind would start whirling with the thoughts of heart attacks and blood pressure issues. Gradually, this little cyclone of thoughts will manifest into something much bigger, much worse, a disease.

How did all that happen. Well, to begin with, the subconscious mind responds very easily to something distinct or decisive, bright colours, sharp sounds, alarms and so on.

Now, that little whirling was nothing but a warning to that person. The mixture of feelings and thoughts associated about eating that food item actually was meant to be interpreted as a warning. Unfortunately, most people fail to recognize and understand their feelings. And if that was less, they end up feeling guilty or resent their cravings.

Now, this guilt is again received by the subconscious mind like a radar and even intensifies when the same situation is repeated. The bearer may not realize the guilt but, from within the guilt keeps evolving into a dangerous condition. The subconscious mind communicates with the cells of the body, the glands to create conditions of diseases as way of reacting to the beliefs which the person so strongly holds.

This can be easily proved by the fact that people in the past worried less about their heath and therefore, suffered less with diseases. We are the victims of our own overdose of worrisome attitude of health consciousness. In addition, to that we treat suggestions as the ultimatums. No wonder, today health related issues have risen to nearly uncontrollable numbers.

So, the bottomline is: Think healthy thoughts! Yes, it sounds simple but it needs some committment on your part. If, your thoughts have the power to cause diseases in your body, they certainly are more effective in restoring health and well-being.

Now go ahead and create a healthy you!
